A leadership change is coming to Babcock High School as students and staff prepare to return from fall break.
According to an internal school communication obtained by Babcock News, Shannon Treece announced that Rachel Crawford will assume the role of interim principal when classes resume.
Crawford is no stranger to Babcock Schools. As a longtime member of the school’s leadership team, she has helped shape educational initiatives, support student development, and strengthen the school’s approach to Project-Based Learning (PBL).
According to the communication, Crawford has been certified in PBL implementation since 2019 and has spent the past seven years leading professional learning initiatives across the country.
Her experience includes involvement with programs such as Profile of a Trailblazer and Defenses of Learning, which focus on helping students develop academic skills, demonstrate their knowledge, and connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
The communication also highlighted Crawford’s experience with Standards-Based Grading and its connection to Project-Based Learning.
Crawford is expected to begin serving as interim principal when students and staff return from fall break.
Babcock News will continue to follow the transition and share updates as additional information becomes available.
