BABCOCK RANCH TO GLOW ORANGE IN MEMORY OF KEVIN REITZ

Babcock Ranch residents are being encouraged to light their homes orange this week in memory of Kevin Reitz, who served as Operations Manager for CCMC at Babcock Ranch and was a familiar presence throughout the community.

CCMC announced that lights at Founder’s Square and throughout the community will shine orange in recognition of Kevin’s favorite color. Residents with color-changing lights are also being invited to participate by illuminating their homes orange.

Kevin’s family said the community-wide tribute is especially meaningful because of his deep connection to Babcock Ranch and the pride he took in being part of the community.

Kevin’s son, Brandon Reitz, shared with Babcock News what the outpouring of support has meant to their family.

“The response from the Babcock Ranch community has meant more to our family than I can adequately put into words. My dad truly loved this community. He was incredibly proud of Babcock Ranch and of the relationships he built here, and he genuinely cared about the people who called it home.”

Brandon said seeing the community come together following his father’s passing has been overwhelming for the family.

“Seeing the entire community come together to honor him has been overwhelming in the most beautiful way. It has reminded us that his impact extended far beyond our family and that the love and commitment he gave to this community was felt and returned by so many.”

He added that the orange-light tribute will hold special meaning for the family.

“Knowing that Babcock Ranch will glow orange in his honor is something our family will never forget.”

CCMC has also created a dedicated Remembrance Area near the Dock at Lake Timber Lodge, described as one of Kevin’s favorite places to spend time fishing and enjoying the community. Family members, friends, residents and colleagues can gather there to reflect, share memories and leave flowers or photographs in his honor.

Kevin’s family said they hope residents throughout Babcock Ranch will join the tribute by turning their lights orange.

Babcock News extends its condolences to Kevin’s family, friends, colleagues and everyone mourning his loss.

Residents who participate in the tribute are invited to share photos of their orange lights with Babcock News as the community comes together to remember Kevin.
