As of publication, Babcock News had not received a direct response to our earlier inquiry regarding the cancellation of Friday’s varsity football game. However, Babcock Schools Executive Director Shannon Treece has now issued a statement to Trailblazer families addressing the football program.
Treece said Babcock Schools is “intentionally pausing football due to limited player availability and injuries,” adding that student safety comes first.
According to Treece, the decision is a pause rather than a cancellation of the football program and provides an opportunity to “recalibrate” as the high school and community continue to grow.
